Interior and Exterior Demolition Project Completed by Universal Wrecking Corp.

Universal Wrecking Corp. (UWC) was contracted by P&T Mill Industries for interior and exterior demolition as well as asbestos abatement and onsite concrete crushing services. The building is being renovated to accommodate new condominiums.

The owner awarded the project to Universal Wrecking Corp. due to our ability to our technical expertise in technical and selctive demolition services, our extensive fleet of demolition equipment and attachments and our experienced and safe field personnel.
Several tasks need to be completed prior to the start of demolition activities. All utilities were disconnected. An asbestos inspection was conducted and all asbestos abatement as well as environmental issues were removed and properly disposed offsite.

Universal Wrecking Corp. first separated the buildings to be demolished from the main section that was to remain intact. This was accomplished utilizing Cat 345 BL Series II with a third member LaBounty UP 50. Once the heavy demolition work of the separation was completes, laborers with torches in man-lifts trimmed and manicured the connecting steel beams.
Interior demolition consisted of all load non-bearing walls as well as block infill windows and all mechanical piping. The interior debris was carefully separated from recyclable materials via a skidsteer and laborers and then loaded and shipped off-site for disposal. Steel and metals were processed using the above mentioned metal shears and then sent off-site for scrap metal recycling to local steel mills.

The exterior slab and foundations were removed and crushed on site for reuse as sub base for the parking lots and site work.
